She began as a Playboy Bunny during the 1980s, but it was when shooting a lay-out for Penthouse magazine with photographer Ken Marcus, that she got her breakthrough into porn. He was intrigued with how submissive she was and asked her if she had ever thought about bondage modeling, so he suggested her to contact his friend Simone Devin. The year was 1989 and all of the sudden she was modeling and performing in the bondage scene for different companies and she hasn’t stopped since.
The name Ashley Renee comes from that time, when Simone asked her what stage name she had. Having not thought about that, Simone took her middle name Renee and linked it with Ashley, a name Simone always liked. She decided to do girl/girl films in 1995 while she was doing also bondage and fetish films, and was in that brand of the industry for about two years, when she also did a few boy/girl films. Then she decided to quit and start her own website, mixing sex and bondage, being her own boss and doing everything she wants. In 2009 she stopped shooting films for producers and focused solely on her website.
